Trainee recruitment

Are you an inquisitive team player who likes a challenge?

We are an ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) approved training firm, and we work closely with HAT Group of Accountants for our trainee recruitment. Twice a year, we take on at least four new trainees and start their chartered accountancy journey.

You do not need any previous accounting experience, and there is more to accountancy than spreadsheets and number-crunching. Our ideal candidates have good interpersonal skills, an eye for detail and good analytical skills. We seek individuals with at least 5 GCSEs (grade 9-4), an AAT Level 3, or a 2.1 degree in any discipline.

You will also enjoy an elevated level of responsibility and build relationships across different leadership levels.

What you get with Wilder Coe

As a mid-size, boutique accountancy firm, we offer a well-rounded and varied training programme. You will work alongside a skilled audit team and get hands-on experience across a wide range of projects and sectors. You will also get opportunities to work with other specialist areas within Wilder Coe, such as Tax and Accounting Support.

You will receive constant support from us as you embrace a three-year training contract. We offer fully paid study leave and cover the costs of your professional courses and first exams. You will attend college to help strengthen your learning. Not only will you get the opportunity to qualify and gain experience whilst getting paid, but you will also develop valuable business skills.

You will find our head office in the City of London where you will find most of our 60-strong team, whilst in Stevenage, you will get to know our Accounting Support team. We are a friendly, diverse bunch and take immense pride in the family environment we have built over the years.

We strive to help you reach your full potential and develop our next generation of great accountants.

ACA/CTA joint qualification

As a trainee embarking on the ACA/CTA joint programme, you will gain broad exposure to two focus areas of our accountancy business. We will help you develop your career and grow into a trusted business advisor.

By joining Wilder Coe, you will receive a fully-funded 3.5-year training contract that enables you to obtain not one but two of the most sought-after professional qualifications. You will achieve ACA (ICAEW Chartered Accountant) and CTA (CIOT Chartered Tax Advisor) qualifications whilst working across our audit and tax departments.

In commerce, financial decision-making and tax outcomes are fundamentally linked. At Wilder Coe, we believe in developing staff with the holistic knowledge to match. In so doing, we add substantial value for each client, and we believe that you can have the most rewarding and fast-moving career this way too!
